Stats Profit
(Video Editing Position)

Roles: Video Editor, Channel Moderator

Recently, I started working part time as a YouTube editor for a small football investment channel. My job involves editing and uploading monthly video updates to this channel's "investment journey". All I'm given is an unedited audio file with the narration and I edit that down and add visual effects and text to make the video appealing (as seen below).

My other responsibilities include monitoring and moderating the channel's analytics and community respectively and updating the channel's visual appeal, such as the channel icon, banner, end screen, etc.

New Forest Clothing
(Marketing Apprenticeship)

Roles: Social Media/Email/Blog Writer, Graphic Designer, Video/Website Editor

Last year I worked with an online country clothing retailer called New Forest Clothing as part of an apprenticeship. It was a family run organisation and the team was very small. In the marketing department, it was just me and the Marketing Manager. He taught me everything I needed to know (even with my prior experience) and helped develop me into an all around strong and competent digital marketer. So much so that I was able to take on his responsibilities as well as my own when he took time off and confidently carried the workload on my shoulders in his absence. I achieved a Distinction grade at the end of my apprenticeship.

I was mainly responsible for the company's digital presence, including social media, blog posts, product listings, etc. I also helped with the creation/editing of website pages, email newsletters and paid campaigns and competitions. Paying attention to the data of previous projects along the way and learning from what worked and what didn't and why.

Having extensive prior experience with video editing in particular, I chose to take on a lot of marketing responsibilities that revolved around video production. However, I also enjoyed a lot of the other creative parts of the job, including setting up events and competitions and making graphics for the website, social media, etc. Below are a few examples of my work, made using a mix of Photoshop, Canva, Premiere Pro and more.

YouTube Designs
(Personal Project)

Roles: Graphic Designer, Digital Artist

A collection of my personal favourite video thumbnails and drawings I made throughout my years as a YouTube Content Creator.

I have been editing and producing my own videos for around 10 years, mainly using Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition. I created these series of thumbnails and original drawings using Photoshop.

My YouTube channel currently has over 19,000 subscribers and you can view my channel page here: https://www.youtube.com/@NintenDanYT

Character Drawings
(Personal Project)

Roles: Concept Artist

A collection of digital drawings I've recently made on Photoshop for personal projects as well as art I've made for other people.

The girls on the top left and the man with the cybernetic arm are original characters designed by me while the girl on the bottom is a character designed by a friend of mine who I drew in my art style.

Fun Science
(6-month Work Contract)

Roles: Social Media Marketer, Blog Writer, Graphic Designer, Video Editor

A selection of work I produced as part of a 6-month contract I had working as a 'Social Media Marketer for Fun Science. They focus on teaching science to young children via science parties/events so I ended up using a lot of bright, primary based colours when creating the social media posts.

I was in charge of Fun Science's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and I made daily social media posts on a variety of subjects such as different scientists, science facts, science "life hacks" and general advertisements for their various services.

The staff at Fun Science were fully aware of the experience I have being my own YouTube content creator and graphic designer so they asked me handle their YouTube channel as well. I decided to update the look of all their social media websites on top of their YouTube channel. In the first image, you can see what the YouTube channel looks like, with an example thumbnail of a video. The second image is the wallpaper for Fun Science's Twitter account and below are various example of social media posts that I created for them.

Lastly is a video example of my editing work with Fun Science, I ended up editing a few showcases for events they were organizing as well as general services that they provide. On top of that, I would write my own blog posts every week for the Fun Science website on a different Science experiment kids could perform at home.

I received very positive feedback on all the work I did for Fun Science and I'm glad I was able to get the opportunity to work for them.

UI Concepts
(Group Project)

Roles: UI Artist, Graphic Designer, Level Designer

I'm currently involved in a small group game project where I'm responsible for the UI and level design including creating buildings and placing assets inside them. At the moment we're at the early stages of development and most of what I've made is concept art, but I'm looking forward to getting onto the later stages where I can implement my UI skills.

The game we are making will have a selection of 'minigames'  and you will have to complete them as part the job routine of the game. As such I have designed the Pause Menu to be the main character reading a newspaper while "on break" at work and the level selection screen to be a calendar that the character can interact with before heading off to work.

"Pac-Man Tilt Ball"
(Short Game Project)

Roles: Game Designer, Asset Maker

I was asked to make a Pac-Man game as part of a test for a job opportunity. I had less than a week to complete the project and found myself juggling my time between making this project, making a video I was also working on and going to work. Despite this, I decided I wanted to get adventurous with the project and turned the concept of Pac-Man into a physics based tilt-maze game.

On top of that, not only were my version of the Pac-Man ghosts able to travel through walls and and knock the player out of the maze, but each of the ghosts: Blinky, Inky, Pinky and Clyde, were also designed with different personalities and properties.

- Blinky is the head-strong, daredevil who travels faster than the other ghosts but struggles with control.

- Inky is the powerful, snake in the grass who moves slowly but causes a lot of knockback when hitting the player.

- Pinky is the smart, careful mover who isn't very strong, but is good at following the player and punishing their mistakes.

- Clyde is the odd one out, he can move and cause damage at a normal rate, but doesn't follow the player and instead goes wherever he pleases.

The game can be played using the following link: https://simmer.io/@NintenDan/~cb4d0771-d8e4-f083-98cb-e825f1cc9bbb

Teddy Tennis Marketing
(Social Media Advertisement)

Roles: Graphic Design

A simple Social Media advertisement I was asked to make for a small business that teach tennis to young children. The photograph and company logo were provided to me and I used them to produce to two images below. The image on the the right is the final version of the advertisement, after I had updated the text to a more bold, bubbly font that made the advertisement 'pop' more.

A few weeks later I was asked to make another Social Media advertisement, which I was asked to keep the design simple (and can be seen below my 2 original pieces) and even a short Social Media video a few weeks after that, which I made using Adobe Premiere Pro (and can be seen below the images)

"Just Rain"
(3rd Year Solo Project)

Roles: Game Designer, Asset Creator, Graphic/UI Artist, Video Editor

Just Rain was a third year project which I worked on independently. The player had to use shelter and the main character's umbrella to avoid the acid rain falling from the sky. However, the umbrella wouldn't last forever so the player had to complete each level as quickly as they could. On top of that, puzzles and enemies were implemented to further keep the player on their toes. Fortunately, the player could pick up and throw bricks found on the floor in order to defeat enemies and solve puzzles.

"Absolute Solitude"
(2nd Year Group Project)

Roles: Concept Artist, UI Artist, Video Editor

Absolute Solitude was a wave based first person shooter game that allowed the player to fend off against waves of monsters that had invaded Earth. My job was to design what these monsters would look like as well as create concept art for the game's different assets. On top of that, I created the game's GUI, cut-scenes and trailer.

"Encore"
(2nd Year Group Project)

Role: UI Artist

Encore was a murder-mystery point and click game where the player controlled a detective trying to solve a murder case inside a theater. I was responsible for the GUI in the game and tried to make some simple yet appealing art for the game's aesthetic.
